Our Made to measure service has been developed from our experience in bespoke shoemaking, applying our knowledge of last making and shoemaking to offer you our accessible approach to the craft. Ones we have measured your feet, we choose the right size last that matches the width of your feet. Each shoe is hand lasted and features many of the same elements for which our bespoke shoes are known.
Our bespoke atelier collection service offers you the opportunity to make bespoke shoes based on our atelier collection designs. Your measurements will be taken and a personalized last will be prepared for you. A trial fitting shoe is then made to check the fit and design. Bespoke shoes are entirely handmade.
Our bespoke service offers you the opportunity to make a bespoke shoe based on your design choice. After we prepare the personalized shoe last, we cut your unique pattern and assemble the upper from leather as selected by you. We pay attention to the smallest details to make your dream shoe a reality.
Blake Rapid Stitch is a construction technique which is like a hybrid between Blake stitching and Goodyear welting. A double sole is sewn to the upper. First, the traditional Blake stitch construction is completed, then a second sole is attached with an exterior seam.
Blake stitching is done with what is called the “single stitch” method. The shoe’s upper is folded underneath the insole, and then stitched into place with a single thread connecting the insole, the upper, and the outsole on the inside of the shoe – as can be seen in the diagram left.
All of the components are stitched together by hand through a special machine, called a McKay machine, which lock-stitches the thread to ensure it won’t come apart.
The Blake Rapid construction results in a more solid construction that is still flexible and sleek. The shoe is relatively waterproof and it is possible to replace the outsole without the need to influence the insole and upper part.
